Unconditional love is the best sh_t on the planet

Unconditional love is the best sh_t on the planet 💕 Better than coconut gelato, better than finding the perfect jeans and even better than a Maui vacation. You know why? Because it FEELS SO GOOD! Kind of like these puppy kisses and cuddles. It warms your insides like a Hawaiin sunrise in your heart.
And...it feels WAY better than resentment and holding a grudge. That...feels like a rock in your gut, food poisoning, or a volcano erupting from your innards.
So, when that believing family member or friend tells you...
"You've made the worst mistake of your life" or
"You're ruining your kids' lives" or even
"You're destroying our ancestral eternal chain" after you leave the Church, I invite you to FEEL unconditional love for that person. Not because they deserve it or because it's the 'right' thing to do. But because YOU deserve it. YOU deserve to FEEL that 'puppy love' in your heart. YOU deserve to feel LOVE. And why wouldn't you choose to feel good over feeling sh__ty?
Now, I'm NOT saying that by feeling unconditional love for that person that you also...
-excuse their behavior
-permit ongoing emotional abusive or
-invite that person into your life.
*Unconditional love can very well look like...
LOVE AND LET GO
And that is a beautiful thing, for YOU, my friend.

It can be tempting to try to get others to validat

It can be tempting to try to get others to validate you as you go through your faith transition, especially those who disagree with your decision most.

My best advice: don't waste your time! Not because those people aren't valuable in your life, because they may or may not be. Not because you don't care about them or love them. Please love whomever you want💕 I give no advice there.

But it's important to stand back and observe. Is this behavior harming you while you're already in a vulnerable part of your life? Exposing yourself to gaslighting over and over has its consequences.

I'm just saying, remember to ask yourself if you like your reasons why you're allowing it in your life. If you don't, then it may be time to re-evaluate who you are keeping close in your life.

Contrary to what many of us have been taught, leaving or 'losing' your religion does not equate with the END of your spiritual journey, nor does it mark the beginning of spiritual death, as LDS members are taught.

In fact, it can be quite the opposite! It can be the START of your path to spiritual awakening, journey of self or divine discovery, quest for enlightenment, spiritual odyssey, or whatever you want to call this new, transformative phase after leaving the Church.

I have personally found that letting go has been the BIGGEST step towards greater self-awareness, understanding, and connection with the divine.
